We were visiting my parents in KY this summer.  Playing in the spray fountains at the riverfront park is a yearly tradition.  I got a few pics of these two from a distance, and then my daughter went in for the hug.  I am so lucky to have captured this moment.  She *loves* her Grandpa!

My children were taking turns, patiently waiting for their first day of school photo.  It was my son’s turn, and thank goodness I had my camera ready to shoot.  This was his response to me excitedly asking, “Are you ready?”.  Of course his next photos are all smiles and grins, but I’m sure glad I caught this face!

I ♥ Faces Crazy, Silly, Funny Face Entry!

 

This picture was taken a few days ago.  E & P have been best friends for over half their lives (well, they're only six!).  They have recently moved, so we don't see them as often.  On this day we were hosting a playdate, and had just finished lunch. I was attempting to get a cute cheek-to-cheek photo to give to P's Mom.  The light from the window was great, and everyone was happy.  Perhaps a bit TOO happy!  This picture happens to be the best one I got that day!  (I think I miss that cooperative smily phase ~ sigh)

On the Boat…. Finally!

 

It’s been kind of a joke, that we’ve had this boat since Mother’s Day, and I haven’t been on it yet!  We’ve tried a few times, but something has always come up.

Yesterday Aubrey was on a playdate, and Daddy took his girls out on Jordan Lake for a fun few hours!

On a side note- I’m trying out Windows Live Writer for the first time with this post.  It seems very easy to use (I’m definitely blogging challenged!), and maybe for once my text will be UNder my photo?!  Also, I’ve heard many people use because you can post larger pictures.

Oh, my sweet son! I was taking shots of my kids, trying to capture the beautiful colors of this background in Downtown Louisville. (Doesn't quite work with that shirt does it!)
I don't remember why he was holding in his laughter, but he surely was! Can you see it in his eyes? (Those eyes melt me daily)

Well, I hate to say it, but we are still not in our groove. Tomorrow is a new day... kids off to play with the Maioranos in the AM, so hopefully I will have a nice run and then run some errands.

Hi Shannon,
We all hope that you made it to Brazil safely, as we have yet to hear from you.
Today was hectic and stressful. The kids fought a lot today - everyone was edgy.
Basketball was fun - Elsie had a game at 9am - we really need to help her learn the game (:

We went to your parents after a mid-morning bagel break, and hung out until lunchtime. Pa and I got Wendy's for lunch, and when we got back, Cassy was there. She's in town for a visit.
Your Dad and Cassy came to Aubrey's 3pm game - that was nice!

Kay Yow passed away peacefully today. So sad.

I think that's all. I am absolutely beat, but going to clean off this desk before I go to bed.

We miss you a lot - looking forward to hearing from you!

Saying our Goodbyes

We were all sad to see Daddy leave us for a while, but excited at this new adventure and what it may bring to all of us in the future.

Kids go in for a group hug after our giant last dinner celebration! (Shannon leaves for Brazil the next day)
